Founded in 2025 by Anya, Heritage Hounds brings a higher standard of care and enrichment to dogs across Jersey, Channel Islands. With extensive hands-on experience in dog handling and animal welfare, including years of voluntary work at the JSPCA and Durrell Conservation Trust, we combine expertise and genuine compassion to create the best experience for every dog.

Our Name

The name Heritage Hounds reflects both the rich natural beauty and traditions of Jersey. ‘Heritage’ celebrates the island’s history, culture, and landscapes, where our walks and training sessions take place. It also reflects our philosophy of respecting each dog’s individuality and instincts, just as we cherish the island’s heritage. ‘Hounds’ signifies loyalty, companionship, and the timeless bond between humans and dogs. Together, the name embodies our commitment to honouring both Jersey’s values and the special relationship shared with every dog.

Our Services

Our walks and outings are carefully chosen, from coastal paths and scenic trails to quiet local routes, providing both mental stimulation and physical exercise. Beyond walks, we offer professional housesitting, maintaining routines and providing attentive care in your dog’s familiar environment so you can relax knowing they’re in safe hands. Whether it’s a short trip or an extended stay, our live-in service keeps your dog’s routine consistent and your home well looked after.

Our newest addition to the service range is foundational training, designed to build confidence, improve communication, and encourage positive behaviour. This approach draws on Anya’s academic study and extensive practical experience, ensuring methods are force-free, evidence-based, and effective. Following IMDT training in 2026, these services will expand into behavioural and advanced training, supporting dogs with more complex needs.

• Currently completing 300 hours of practical dog training experience, supported by in-depth academic study, ensuring all training methods are ethical, evidence-based, and effective
